Ping An Espouses Corporate Citizenship Model Company Funds University Students

As a good corporate citizen, Ping An Insurance is committed to giving back to the community. On September 17, 2004, Ping An awarded study grants worth RMB1.2 million to outstanding college students from 20 prestigious universities nationwide whose families earn less than RMB 10,000 a year, as well as winners of an essay writing competition.
Speaking at a forum in Peking University attended by leading Chinese economists such as Cao Fengqi, Xiang Bin, Wu Xiaoqiu and Hu Zuliu in which financial issues were discussed, Mr. Louis Cheung, CFO and COO of Ping An Insurance (Group) Company of China, Ltd., also revealed the Company’s corporate citizenship model: “As a financial enterprise and a listed company, Ping An has sought new ideas in constructing its corporate citizenship model which complements the Company’s belief of having a firm, long-term, sustainable foundation.”

Ping An’s Corporate Citizenship Model contains six key components, including Enterprise Growth, Enterprise Values, Legal Compliance, Customer Relationship, Community Environment Policy, and Charity & Education. Under these guiding principles, Ping An has spearheaded its efforts in the areas of disaster assistance, emergency relief, child safety and education.
